In my free time, I fancy myself a poet and occasionally create poetry accordingly. Most of it is of personal, sentimental value unsuited for publishing or undesired for revelation to the “outside” world beyond my own thoughts.
However, I feel I can part with a few of those creations and share them here! I intend to write more poetry in the coming months and publish it here in order to grow as a poet.
Most of my poetry would be considered fairly “modern” or post-modern at this point, which is to say, it can be chaotic and rarely rhymes. Much of this is done in order to provoke certain feelings, even discomfort or groundlessness, in the reader and to reflect the mind—my mind. I consider T. S. Eliot to be the largest influence on me. In the future, I aim to add to my skillset by exploring rhymed poetry and trying my hand at some more sonnets.

The Proving of Providence:
Written January 22, 2021
Light of the moon inscribes the rugged pail Lost in the morning's work and shepherd's sigh, Alone; near the humble shed, the lilies lie, Forced now to moan at winter's bruising gale. Snow reckons them as naught. Within the vale, Wings rise of sparrows numbered by the sky: One fears to find few crumbs—to die. Reprieves and hope must fade and, surely, fail. Reject, oh soul, "that none observe the small!" A lamb drinks of the bucket, forged in love; Plucked lilies live upon the altar stand; Spring's rain bears grain for sparrows in the fall. Outside our sight, we glean from God above New signs of grace and mercies of His hand.
